Full-time associate veterinarian position available at a small private practice in downtown Durham. The practice currently sees primarily cats and dogs, is a 1-doctor practice, has 2-4 surgery mornings per week, and schedules wellness and medical appointments Monday through Saturday. The ideal candidate would have an interest in exotics, an interest in surgery, excellent communication and empathy skills, and an ability to work both independently and as a team player. At this practice, communication with both clients and co-workers is a high priority. Additionally, critical thinking skills are essential to not only patient evaluation and treatment but also in evaluation of new technology, pharmaceuticals, and products.
1+ years experience in small animal medicine and surgery, ability to comfortably perform basic surgeries including spays, neuters, and minor mass removals, comfortably perform dental cleanings with extractions, be able to comfortably communicate well with both co-workers and clients, ability to utilize a paperless medical record software program efficiently.
