About Oceanside Animal Hospital
We are a well respected small animal and exotics practice (approx. 50% exotics) that opened in 2012 (new facility and equipment). We have a staff of 12 amazing team members who are fun, skilled, and driven to provide excellent care to our patients and clients. Our clients love their pets and value them as family members -which allows us to do great medicine and have fun while doing it. Many of our clients drive from 1-2 hours away to come see us and we get referrals for general care from our local ER’s and specialists regularly – what a compliment!
Our hospital has all the bells and whistles with digital radiography (dental and standard), ultrasound (and people who use it daily), sevo and iso vaporizers, exotics equipment, and dedicated technicians monitoring anesthesia. We incorporate our beliefs about patient care into how we do our procedures and appointments - all of our dentals have full series radiographs performed, our anesthetized patients have IV catheters and pre-operative bloodwork performed, and our facility is laid out to create the least stress for our patients and clients. Everything we do is intentional to create the best medicine and experience.
Our practice... owner thoroughly enjoys teaching and mentoring. She has been working with exotic species and domestic pets for 18 years and has worked in multiple referral and emergency practices, gaining experience and skill in emergency medicine. She loves to learn from others and regularly collaborates with other veterinarians and specialists in the area.
As a company, we have a strong focus on personal wellness and incorporate that intention into everything we do, often collaborating as a team to develop strategies that work well for our clients, patients, and our staff. We value our staff well-being and have designed our hospital hours with that in mind. No weekend hours here! 4 day workweek – yes please!
We have regular staff meetings where we practice new skills, do continuing education, training, and work on wellness and self care skills. We all take part, working together to develop and implement new strategies and skills.
We are located on beautiful Cape Cod (you can bike ride to the beach for lunch breaks!) and are right over the bridge (only 1 hour from Boston) so you get the best of coastal living and the culture of Boston nearby.
Our doctors and staff have many local opportunities to network, collaborate, and volunteer with organizations like IFAW, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, the Cape Wildlife Center, and The Atlantic White Shark Conservatory. Our relationship with the Belize Wildlife and Referral Clinic provides our veterinary team the opportunity to travel internationally and volunteer in Belize on a rotating basis.
Our company culture is positive, patient and client care-focused, responsive, and fun with an emphasis on inclusion within our team and throughout our community.
