Heal Vet is a young, privately owned, progressive, small animal general practice located just outside of Boston MA. As we look toward having a vet on maternity leave, and to growing our practice we are looking to add a full or part time vet to our team.
You will fit in well with us if you are fulfilled by building connections with clients, if you prefer low-stress handling techniques, and if you value a collaborative team-based working environment. For this position an experienced veterinarian (1+ years out) would be ideal. If you are looking for better support and work life balance you should check us out.
The doctor group at Heal is a mix of highly experienced and younger vets and we enjoy working on tough cases as a team. We have weekly doctors meetings and value each other’s input and support. We practice low stress handling, have generous appointment times, and strong communication with clients. Our partnerships with house call vets gives us a high surgery load, our work with shelters and low-income clients allows us to give back to those in need of care, and our work with ACOs gives us the spice of working with wildlife. We meet each pet and owner in our lovely and diverse population where they are at, allowing them to make educated decisions, and support what they choose.
The advantages of working in greater Boston include several specialty hospitals nearby who support us on complicated cases and handle our after hours emergencies. Our team includes a visiting cardiologist and internist that join us as needed.
Our recently-renovated facility has ample natural light, is decorated with bright colors, and set our comfy exam rooms up like small living rooms. And our vets are equipped with lots of fun tools for doing our jobs including ultrasound, therapeutic laser, in-house labs, digital radiography, dental radiography, cautery, suction, surgical monitoring including capnography, Doppler, tonopen, etc. Check out our website, facebook page, and online reviews. We feel our reviews explain what we do and how well we do it.
The Boston area is great place to live - full of cultural, academic, and outdoors opportunities. Heal is a great place to work - compensation and benefits include health insurance, 401K, paid time off, profit sharing, pet care allowance, CE and training…and there is parking, as well as easy access to public transportation. Our management practices clear communication and fair labor policies for all the team including our support staff, who are our greatest asset. Our staff turnover is low in part because we focus on developing a fabulous team of hard working, positive, motivated people who regularly make us a better practice.
