We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in house x-ray capabilities, and a closely supervised hospitalization area.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal Licensed Veterinary Technician will be a driver of hospital procedures and workflow, focusing on crafting an outstanding customer experience and take pride in offering unmatched compassionate care. You will establish an efficient movement of patients and clients through appointments. You will ensure communication with clients is clear and understood, including phone, texting, and email. You should be able to work independently and provide support to coworkers and veterinarians.
Responsibilities:
Proficient in phlebotomy, setting catheters, administration of IV fluids.
Perform timely and quality full body/DNT radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by DVM staff.
Excellent communication skills with the staff, DVMs, and clients in a friendly, approachable manner
Able to obtain and record communication in clear, simple, and detailed information in patient.
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history. Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque, calculus)
Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in a clinical setting.
Veterinary Technician Certification or License (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) highly preferred or valid LVT credentials in Texas or pending credentials within 6-8 months
Professional appearance required; scrubs are always to be worn.
Experience with Cornerstone preferred.
Assist in animal restraint.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Ability to work on your feet all day.
