Austin Equine Hospital, located in the beautiful hill country of Central Texas region is looking to hire a second equine intern for the '23-'24 year. We offer both in-clinic and ambulatory services, with duties shared between two interns to spread out the emergency and patient care load. We take work/life balance very seriously, and we take great pride in teaching and training our interns to go on to great things.
We offer a happy, fun, drama-free work environment full of engaged people. We practice high quality, evidence-based medicine and do things to make sure you will, too. Things like daily rounds and monthly journal club (with beer and pizza, of course). For graduates interested in surgery we have a board-certified surgeon on staff for both emergency and elective procedures, and an emphasis on sports medicine and dentistry for those less excited about scrubbing into the OR. Our two current interns have enjoyed the practice so much they are both staying on as Associates!
Austin Equine provides an intern salary of $40,000 with an additional $6,000 stipend to cover the cost of healthcare premiums during the internship year, and on-site housing if desired. Other benefits include the opportunity to participate in a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, CE allowance, professional license and dues reimbursement.
