In partnership with the New York City Police Department, the Forensic Sciences team works to support casework and advance and execute the application of veterinary medicine and forensic sciences to the investigation, prosecution, and prevention of cruelty to animals. Externs will be exposed to all the basic areas of forensic veterinary medicine through expert mentorship.
Intake & Evaluations
Observe intake of all new cases, live forensic evaluations, and forensic necropsies.
Learning
Take advantage of specialized veterinary forensic medicine reference materials and learning modules.
Investigation & Prosecution
Participate in a crime scene investigation and/or attend a criminal trial if available.
