We need help!!!!
Prices Creek Vet Service is a rapidly growing rural two (should be 3) doctor practice in Lewisburg, Ohio and we are looking for an associate veterinarian. Any experience level is welcome –mentorship is available. We are a mixed dog/cat (60%) and equine (40%) practice, with a smattering of small ruminants (1%) to keep things interesting. Due to the recent closure of two local equine-only practices, the equine work is….let’s just say abundant and increasing.
According to one negative online review, we are “weird.” Admittedly this is true. We are a tribe of food obsessed, silly, movie/song quoting fools who often swear (but not usually in front of clients). You probably need to be a little weird to want to work for us. :)
Our goal is to practice high quality medicine with an emphasis on low stress handling, client education, and customer service, while maintaining a fun workplace. We have a full service small animal clinic (with an expansion in the near future) with a surgery suite, digital radiology, ultrasound, ultrasonic dental machine, and in-house lab machines. We have 4 RVTs, one RVT in training, and one Vet Assistant on staff who are all passionate about low stress handling and making meaningful relationships with our patients and clients. Most large animal appointments are seen in the field, but we do have a small haul in facility with stocks, which is nice in inclement weather. There are 2 fully stocked vet trucks, 2 varieties of power floats, portable ultrasound, and portable digital radiology available for farm calls.
We try to make sure that all of our staff have work-life balance with schedule flexibility – this position is a 4 day work week with an average of 1-2 nights per week and every third weekend on call. We only provide emergency services for our own clients. Having 2 small animal ER clinics within 45 minutes of the clinic means no out-of-hours surgical emergencies and limited small animal out-of-hours calls!
Base salary $98k+ (based on experience), with potential for production bonus. Special interests (and integrative therapy) are welcome in the scope of our practice. One of our vets is acupuncture certified. Want to do more small animal surgery? Great. Want to do more equine sports medicine? Great. We’ll tailor your schedule to you!
Benefits include bonuses for emergency calls, AVMA/OVMA/AAEP dues, Ohio veterinary license, DEA license, liability insurance, profit-sharing (IRA), a generous CE stipend, health care reimbursement, and heavily discounted care for your personal critters.
While Lewisburg itself is a small town, it is minutes from the Dayton metro area, making it an ideal mix of both rural and city life. The local area around our practice is full of hiking, hunting, fishing, boating, riding, and camping opportunities. There are several nearby state parks and Dayton Metroparks for you to explore. Dayton is a city undergoing revitalization with many theaters, restaurants, breweries, and wineries, and axe-throwing venues (if you’re into that kind of thing). Columbus, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis are easy 1-2 hour rides for day trips.
